(Tn the Editor.) Sir, —The BFble in tichools League makes an attractive apgje-a'l to parents by means of its title: " Bible in Schools." How- little 'tlmt title describes the intensions of the J-iPagw is 'beginning to be understood. The aWo appeals ■powerfully to tlie prejudices of the scantily informed by describing the State school By&teni as godless. Tliis epithet must be dropped now. We 'have it on fche assurance «rf Bishop Avcrill: "Ko far iie the possibility of cMldireti asking questions about the Bible ,<roee, ac that possibility exists through BiWe references 'being j»iven in tlu- lesson books, out proposal would create no new difficuJity ill this respect." ("Star" report.) The lefiSOTi-books referred to by the Bishop are, of course £hose now in tiw. and an inditTited by hhn contain matter which constitutes the term applied to by the League, a libel.—l am, etc..
