EMPIRE DAY CUP. BISLEY MEETING BEGUN. I Received 11.20 a.m.) LOXDOX. July 13. It is officially announced that the 16th Infantry. Xcwcastle. Australia, won the Empire Day Cup with a score of 2.1M2. The 4th King's Royal Rifles vecrv: second with a total of 2.740; the :',Bt'i Dognis. Malakand. third with 2.044. and the Marine. Artillery. Portsmouth, fourth. with 2,632. The Australians at Bisley have improved during the past week's practise and have made many good scores at the long ranges, especially the older Bisley shots, while the new members have become acquainted with local conditions. Though they lost both matches with London teams the margins were narrow, and the matches were lired against strong opponents. Tlie Bisley meeting has opened in fine and hot. weather. Captain Merritt. speaking at the Bisley luncheon, hoped that no drastic changes would be made in tbe regulations for 1915- otherwise tlie Australian cutrics would lie affected.
