DEVONPORT FERRY COMPANY.

The nineteenth report of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company for the year ended 30th April, 1014, to be submitted at a meeting of shareholders on Thursday, is as follows:— •The directors have pleasure in submitting the nineteenth report and balancesheet. The profit aud loss account shows that the net profit for the year is £0014 9/10; the bala-nce brought forward last year, after payment of dividend, was £7,500 13/2; making a total of £13,815 :'./. An interim dividend was paid iv December last for the half-year ended -list October, 191:1, amounting tn £2517 5/3; leaving a balance to credit of profit and loss account of £11,297 17/9. Yonr directors recommend that a dividend at the rate of 10 per cent per annum, for the half-year ended With April, 1914. he paid to shareholders, and that the balance be carried forward to next years account. During the year 10,000 of the. unissued shares of the company were offered to shareholders at a premium. The shares offered were, with, the exception of a small number, taken np. The amount of premium capital received from these shares has beeu placed to the reserve aceonnt, which now stands at £15,750. The steamer for Oiakei, Kohlmarama. SL Heller's Bay trades, which was referred to in last year's report as being in course of construction, was completed during the year, nnd has in every way proved satisfactory. The motor 'buses also referred to commenced running in October last- They have greatly added to the convenience and comfort of the travelling public. In accordance with the articled of association. Colonel Tv". D. ITolgnte Is the relirlmr director, and being eligible, offers himself for re-election. The retiring auditors, Messrs Thomson and Gray, offer themselves for re-election.
