A PITIABLE CASE.
LITTLE GIRL ARRESTED. TRAMPING OVERLAND. i j (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE. this day. An extraordinary case was reported in the Juvenile Courr this morning. The police yesterday apprehended a little ; girl eight years, of age, who was tramping overland with her father from Auckj l.uid. I 1' w.is stated thai the pair had ; tramped from Auckland, via Tauranga. and were on their way- to W'aipaw.i! ! Tlavrke's Bay. ■where the man's brother live-. They had been sleeping in the open ill bitterly cold weather. The child was in a. pitiable slate though it had been given clothe*, by settlers. The 1 iiild was arrested for not being under proper control, and wis committed to the Wellington receiving home.
