THE HAWKE CUP. (By Telegraph.—Press Allocution.) WANGANUI, Saturday. The Hswke Cup challenge match between Poverty Bay (challengers) and Wanganul iholdens) was commenced at Cook's Gardens to-day. The weather in the forenoon was showery, but It cleared off in the aflrnoon. The match was continued in showery weather this morning. Poverty Bar's flret innings closed for 120 (Moore 35, Cooke 9, Oates 0, Schollnto o, 1. Gibson not out S, Jones 2, extras 15). Holland tacii five wickets for 47 runs, Bernan four for 33, Hassey none for 15, Johnston one for 12. PUBLIC SCHOOLS' CRICKET.
