MIN-E .MANAGER'S REPORT. Occiaental.-The drive souta on So. 2 reef at -No. 0 level, is i.i io feet south of the shaft The reef lodes very promising, and is carrying a good class of minerals. In the slopes the reef contlnnes to show gold freely, and a few pieces of picked stove were got when breaking down this week. The drive north on the Occidental reef is now I*> feet from Xo. 2 crosscut. The reef is a nice looking body of ore and has a good clase of country on the bangingwall, but the foot wall hi rather soft and puggy at present. New Sylvia. —The ecrosscut east of No. 2 level has been suspended and a start made on No. 1 reef. All the stopes at No. 3 level axe producing a fair quantity of ore. The drive at the intermediate level. No. 2 reef is still in two portions, but appears to be coming; together asrain. The ore in both reefs is very heavy mineralised. Five stopes are lieiny; workod. A start will be made next wotk to ilri, - e south on No. X reef. In the Brilliant No. 2 section (recently Taken up) a trench has been formed to the reef. About 30 fopt of crosecnttlng should reach the reef and give about 100 feet of backs.

Mount Welcome.—No. 2 winze is down 55 feet, but liuil lo be stopped owing to tbe water from recent heavy ruins. In the •western drive at the low level a start will now be made to open up the block about 50 feet down from No. J leveL

Saxon.—Tue drive west at No. 7 level ls now in 45 feet. The reef shows a strong body of stone, but no quartz has been •broken. In the east face the reef Is a bit disturbed by a break. There are now two brandies with about 4 feet of country between. Both branches show a width of a inches and carry copper pyrites, zinc ■blend and other favourable minerals. A few colours of gold have been seen, and from the favourable prospects the manager considers better results should be met with at any time.

Moanataiari. —At No. 3 level stripping the lodes In the footwall of the main slide has been la progress; both lodes are being taken along In one drive, and there Is about 4 feet of country between. The lode on the right band side of the drive is trending to the left, and should junction ■with the left hand ehortly. The country is of the best description.

May Queen. —Several visits have been made to the thousand feet level, but tbe manager thinks that owing to the gas it will be a case of waiting till the Walotaoi Co. , s shaft is connected with the level. This should be In about five or six weeks time.

Golden Belt—A further 22 feet hate been driven south at the Intermediate level. At this point the reef was cut On tbe hangingwall side, and a large flow of water was cut. Some of the quartz broken looks nice, and colours of gold ran be seen in the stone. Tbe intermediate level is now far enough south to start rising. The low level will have to be extended a farther 50 feet before starting a rise.
