DOG, PIANO, AND BABY.
THE MODERN FRENCH FAMILY. (Times-Sydney Sun Special Cable.) (Keceived 8.15 a.m.) PARIS, February 8. The "Matin" bitterly bewails the decline of the French birth rate, and shows that families with a single child are in the majority. It remarks that the French iamily now consists of a dog, a piano, and a child. Monsieur plays with the dog, madame with the piano, and the baby is left to the care of servants.
