ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
UNFORTUNATE LOVE AFFAIR. About 11 o'clock last night a young man named George Henry William Lowell, employed as a carter by Mr. T. E. Saxton of Onehunga, attempted to commit suicide by faking .a quantity of iodine. He wae .noticed in the act of taking the poison- by the inmates of the boarding house at which Jie stayed in Auckland Road, The cup was dashed from his hand. Constable Courtney, who was on xhrty in the vicinity was called in and he successfully administered an emetic. Dr. Tresiddcr was also sent for as an additional precaution. The cause -of the young man'sattempt on his life is -said to have been a misunderstanding in a love affair.'
