" Bather " complains that no provision was made for the opening of the dressing shed on Shelly Beach on Thursday night last. Edith Andrew criticises the existence of a lot of poor houses in the heart of the city, sheltering a 9 many as six families-: "If those houses were in Chri&tchurch, our model city," she writes, " they would have been condemned long since." The same correspondent urges the remaking of the bad grade of Wellesley Street the more adequate lighting of Hobsoni Street.
