FBAHKT.92?t Prankton Borongh Coimcl! received a letter from the .Railway Department stating that the matter of appointing a crossingkeeper at Lake Road was being inquired into; also, in reference to the appointof a porter to attciul to luggage .at Fracliton station, that inquiries had been msde, and that it bad been- found that porters assisted passengers with tlieir luggage across -the..overhead bridge, and that there bad been no complaints irom the public. The- Mayor stated that he had never seen porters assist passengers in the way mentioned, and,. otlier councillors concurring, it wae- agreed to again write the department on the matter. A resolution was passed authorising • the sealing and signing of "the £2,000 electric . lighting loan. The clerk was instructed fo write to the PnbHc Trustee asking on what terms the £4:000 waterworks loan, which was authorise)!, could -be raised.
