He had been superintending Maori ihissioner in the B.iy bf Plenty .(inclnding 'Eotorua), and was the last of the Maori missionere sent out by the phureh ' MjSsipHaTy Society He arrived in Wairoa Bay) in 1878, and- went to-Maketu in ISR3, and-.to Tauranga in. 3.896. ■ ■■■ He leaves., a widow, twa sons, and seven daughter*. He had been ailing for some weeks mentally.
