A plucky rescue from drowning occurred at Shelly Beaoh yesterday afternoon, when a boy named Palmer, who resides in Newton Road, ■was rescued by Mr F. E. Hughes, and his eon Cyril Hughes. The boy, while bathing, got dnto difficrultiee, and called out for help. Mr Hughes and his son responded to t>he call, and young Pa'l.mer was in an exhausted condition when he was reached •by Cyril Hughes. The rescuers, between th«m, had no great difficulty in bringing the boy ashore. Artificial respiration had to 'je employed, and the boy was 60on eufficiently recovered to be taken to his home.
