— ■ — BAG WITH £50 TAKEN. The police.have been informed that on Wednesday last a married woman-named Mrs. J. M. Reedy, while waiting on the Northern wharf with her children, lost her Maori kit. containing an old leather purse and money in notes to a total value of £58. Mrs. Reedy had come up from the South, and was waiting on the wharf to catch the steamer to Coromandel, where she wa» going to sLay with some friends. She had with her a small Maori kit containing her purse and other small articles. After sitting- on one of the seats on the wharf for a while, she decided to walk round a little, and inadvertently left the bag on the seat. She remembered it a few minutes later, but on returning found that it had disappeared. The bag contained nine £5 notes and 13 single £1 notes. The police are making investigations.
