THE EXHIBITION.
BAND REACHES DTXNEDIN. COURT JUDGES APPOINTED. Messages reached the Auckland Exhibition executive this morning to the effect that the 40 members of tiie Royal Artillery Band had arrived all well, having landed at Port Chalmers from the steamer Turakina. The same vessel also brought the model of the British battleship Hercules for display at the Exhibition. Tlie Exhibition authorities emphasise the fact that neither season ticket holders nor others will be permitted inside the gates on either of the two ensuing Sundays. November 23 arid 30. They also point out that season tickets will not admit tbe holders to band concerts which are to be given on Sunday afternoons (luring the visit of the Royal Artillery Hand.' At a meeting this morning the appointment of judges for the district courts competition was considered. It was decided to invite the Auckland Institute of Areliitccts, the Grocers' Association and the Flam School or" Arts, to each nominate three representatives to adjudicate on the _encral appearance and artistic arrangement of the courts. They will inspect the courts on three occasions, namely, in the second week in December, the middle of February, and the last week in -March. The meeting resolved to invite Mr. Mc-Plicrson. of the Agricultural Department, to judge dairy produce, foods 'hams, bacon, honey, etc.! and fresh fruit. Messrs. J. M. Mennie and A. E. Whit tome were nominated as judges for iams. etc.. while for agricultural productit was decided to invite the services of Me-srs. .1. 11. Gunson, ■*". W. I.ttxford. George Sinclair. E. Allen, Arthur Yates, and Roliert Fisher. It was further decided to issue invitations to the following:—Wool, Mr Alexander Donald; leather, skins, etc.. Mr H. Christmas: flax. Mr Ferris; minerals. Mr Frank Reed: timber, Messrs W. E. Hutchison and W. Cuss (Christehurch); joinery. Mr G. C. Garlick's nominee. These gentlemen are to be communicated forthwith.
