INTIMIDATION OF WORKERS.
A WELLINGTON COMPLAINT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELUXGTOX, Thursday. A meeting of the Wellington employers, Farmers, and Citizens' Defence Committee to-day considered the position of workers in the suburbs, and the following resolution was carried: "That the attention of the authorities be drawn to tiio fact tli.it a large amount of intimidation uf workmen — especialh* of drivers ana their households — is stiii going on. and also to the necessity for patrolling .'ill the principal suburban areas throughout the day mid night, and that this be arranged for as soon as possible." A well-planned system is now in operation with the force of special mounted constable*, with the result that while possible out'oreakfi are puarded against the men are relieved from unnecessary duty for some days.
