ACTIVITY AT WELLINGTON.
MORE WATERSIDERS WANTED. (By Telc-fraph.—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Kverything was quiet on the waterfront to-day. The wharves ivpre the sceno of great activity. Although the new watersiders' union totals over 1000 members, between 300 and 400 of these will have to go home when their farms call for their attention. This leaves a balance of 000 actual working members, so another 000 will be required to bring tiie membership up to a permanent basis. All tbe men available were working today, and more were required. The Poherua, with 1400 tons of State coal, berthed at the Railway wharf today, but she is unable to commence discharge until some labour is released from I other vessels.
Kince of £3 were imposed on several men for using insulting language in the Police Court to-day.
