WELLINGTON DISTURBANCES.

AJTOTEEB ABKEST MADE. A LOADED BATON. (T-.j Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Post Office Square was the scene' of another arrest at midday. While a dozen mounted men were doing patrol duty, and keeping the strikers back on the footpath, one rash individual standing in front of Queen's Chambers, called out some offensrre epithets. At once there was a nutter of excitement, and a mounted man swung his horse on the pavement. The offender dashed into the doorway of the -watersiders' office, but the "special" seized him by the back of the neck and prevented him from making his escape. The men was arrested by a foot constable, and escorted to the central police station, where he gave his name as Albert, Phrave. The name of the man arrested earlier in the day is Claries Johnston. Inquiries made at the police station elicited the statement that when arrested he was found to he in possession of a baton of bis own, weighted with lead. Later. Johnston was charged at the Magistrate's Court with assault, and remanded for a week.

There was excitement in Frederick ftreet, when a man who drove a load of flour to a bakery was considerably molested by strikers and rioters, who tbrea.tp.ned to prevent him unloading. A squad of "specials' , passing at the time quickly dispersed the crowd. four "specials" ujiloaded the flour.
