AMUNDSEN'S LONG DRIFT.
BEADY FOR SEVEN-YEAR SIEGE LECTURES PEOVB A PP.OST. (Times-Sydney Sun Special Cable.) (Received 8.20 a.m.) LONDON, November 18. Captain Amundsen has completed his crew of 14, besides his scientific staff. He is equipping the Fram with seven years' provisions. lie intends sailing from San Francisco in June and entering the ice drift in September.
The cost of equipping the Fram is £33,000, half o f which has already been received. He hopes to provide the balance out of the earnings of his lectures, the sale of post cards, photographs, and stamps. The lectures have not proved the financial success anticipated.
