THE EXHIBITION.
HURRYING THE PREPARATIONS.
All work at the Exhibition is going on satisfactorily, and the superintendent (Mr. F. Meadows) confidently expects to ha-ve everything in place by November 20. Several new buildings for side attractions have been added recently, among the number being one for the housing of relics of Gap-tain Scott's last expedition. It ie -understood that these will be in charge of Mr. Dimitri, who conducted fhe dogs on the Antarctic journey.
At a meeting of the president, secretary, superintendent and overseer cef works in Che Exhibition buildings yesterday, appointments were made in connection -with the Exhibition staff. There were 51 in all, and they include sratekeepers, attendants, pirls for change boxes, sweepers, etc. Tbe firemen and policemen to do duty at the ExhibitioD wiH ibe appointed 'by the Rre Briga-de and Police Superintendent respectively. The president has received a copy of the agreement wrtu the military authorities in England for the visit of the Royal Artillery Band. The document was signed on behalf of the executive by tie honorary commissioners in England, Messrs. Moss Davis and Leo Myers. These gentlemen were requested to represent the executive in such capacities prior to their departure tfor England on holiday trips.
