Triggs (Conciliation Com-Tni-sioner) sat to-day to hear a dispute between the Otago branch of the Amal--a-Inaied Society- of Carpenters and Joiners' °L"nion and parties cited (over 33 in » umber). After considerable discussion ihe failed to agree on any points, and the dispute will be referred to the {Arbitration Court. The chief point in ijtispute is the question of wages. Triggs (Conciliation Comjnissicsner) sat-to-night-to hear the eonciusion of the dispute between the Dunedin and Suburban General Electrical Workers' Union and a dozen or so employers cited. An agreement was arrived at which will come into force on October 1, 1913, and remain in force until April 1, 1916. The chief items in the agreement are: Wages of competent journeymen not less than 1 /44 per hour, linesmen -not less than 1 /4_ per hour, assistant linesmen not Jess than 1/2 per hour. -Forty-four hours shall constitute, a week's work, overtime to be paid at the rate of time and a-quarter for the first three hours, and time and a-half for all further time worked. Wages for apprentices shall be: First year 5/ per -week second year 10/, third vcar 15/, fourth yeax. 22/6, fifth year 30/ per week
