The Union steamer. Kauri arrived at Auckland from Lautoka -any this morning, and after-Bi_diea---_xam-Mt-on went up to Chelsea to land a cargo of sugar and .molasses. The' steamer Twickenham sailed last night for Wellington and Port Chalmers. |After discharge is completed at the latter yort the., steamer will probably, leave for Newcastle. It is expected that the barque Jessie Craig will complete discharge of ber cargo of Edithburg jjroduce to-day. The vessel Is to leave on Monday for Kaipara, where she- will load- for Melbourne. The Tiyser s-s. Whakarua left Sydney for Auckland, at 7 a-m. yesterday. She Is due here on Tuesday afternoon, and has 4,630 tons of cargo to land before going on to Napier and Wellington. • The Moana left San Francisco for Wellington, .via way porta, on September 17__. : She is due at Wellington on October Oth, and is fixed to continue her journey to Sydney on the following day. The steamer Ngakuta, to trade under the flag of the Blackball Coal Company, is due at Lyttelton oa October 17th. The vessel is to report at Bluff, and will be signalled to proceed to Lyttelton. The New Zea-.L-nd Shipping Company has the con-rolling "interest in the vesseL IMPORTS. The s.s. Taiune arrived at 12.30 p.m. from the Eastern Pacific. Fine weather was experienced throughout the islands, bnt after leaving Rarotonga a strong south-easterly gale wa& met with. NIAGARA DUE MONDAY AFTERNOON. Ad-vice has been received -by the local office of the Union Company that the Vancouver mail steamer Niagara left Suva for Auckland at 5 p.m. yesterday, and is due here on Monday afternoon. The big liner is making good time, as Tuesday morning is the more usual time of arrival. TIMES OF ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE. A Wireless message to hand just before noon -this morning from the Shaw, Savill steamer Pakeha states that the vessel will probably reach Auckland at 8 a.m, .on Tuesday. The vessel, from London direct, has.made a rather long passage. It would seem that.. she had met with adverse rweather. • On arrival the Pakeha will go to the powder ground. TALUNE IN PORT. The Union Company's Eastern Pacific -trader Taiune arrived at Auckland this aJ-ternoon. and..was berthed at 0, Queen Street_ wharf. The vesssil brought" a number of passengers' and the usual" shipments of fruit- _h& Island merchandise. The - Taiune is-fixed -to sail on the-return passage -lo the Cook and Society Islands on Tuesday. NIAGARA DUE ON TUESDsAY. ■R.M-S;, Niagara sailed from Suva last night for Auckland direct. The vessel is 'eh route "trdm Vancouver" to Sydney via portsv and is due here on Tuesday morning at daylight. Evidently the Maheno is making good time on her passage across the Tasman Sea, for a message to hand at the Auckland Radio .Station last night intimated that the vessel would probably rt_.eh this port, from. Sydney at » a-m. on Sonday. .The Maheno will berth at RC, Railway wharf. Her departure on the return passage has been fixed for 10 p.m. on Monday. The s-s. -Tbhowai is due at Auckland • to-morrow from Dunecin and way ports. The vessel left Gisborne this morning, and should arrive here to-morrow morning.
