I The sympathy strike of English, railj waymen with the Dublin transport strikers continues to spread. Five thousand men are idle, and efforts | to hold a conference have proved abortive. The strikers at Birmingham are increasingly indignant. They allege that .the local leaders deliberately concealed from them the action of the executive of i the union in repudiating the strike. | Two hundred and eighty have resumed I work. At the request of the Chamber of Commerce the Birmingham authorities have offered police protection to traders wishing to bring goods from the railway . depots.
