EXPLORING BY AIRSHIP.
A NEW GUINEA SCHEME. (Received 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Lieutenant Gractz, of the Fuftfarzen. Company, Berlin, is preparing a scheme I for utilising an airship to explore New ! Guinea. The cost of the enterprise, for the furtherance of which committees have been formed in Britain and Holland, is estimated at £150,000. The German Colonial Bank is financing the scheme. It is claimed that a systematic topographical survey of the unknown interior will be made more quickly and thoroughly under the new scheme. One station will be erected in the interior and others along the coast. - i
