AUSTRALIA'S EEPBESENTAKOS ("Sydney San" Special Service.) LOXDOX, August 18. Germany's reasons for not participating in the Panama Exposition are identical with those of Great Britain. (Received 8.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Mr Joseph Cook (Premier) says that as the States seem unprepared to accept the financial responsibility of representation at the Panama Exhibition, the Commonwealth will be left alone to shoulder the burden. In the event of the States declining to act, he proposed to grant £20,000, which would probably be spent in some form of advertising Australia.
