A FIXE SPECIMEN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Wednesday. The seal captured on ;he Waihi beach this morning by Mr Harley is a fine specimen of its kind. It is silver grey ill colour and some eight feet in length. On iMr Harlcy's approach the* sea monster made for the water, and when intercepted it showed fight. He managed to get a sack over its head, and lifted it into his trap. Mr Harley brought the seal into Waihi, leaving it" in his vehicle, where it was inspected by a large number of people.
AN EXHIBITION SUGGESTION. (By Telecraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this (lay. It is suggested here that the seal should be procured by the Auckland Exhibition authorities, as it is likely to prove a big attraction if placed in the grounds. When this suggestion was referred to the Exhibition President (Mr Geo. Elliot) this morning, he told a "Star' reporter that the Inspector of Fisheries (Mr Ayson) had already advised that seals should not be placed in the grounds, as when kept in close confinement they are Dot specially wholesome. Mr Elliot added that .betn made to procure an alligator from Queensland, and he did not think it would be wise to add any seals to the collection
