CONTINUOUS WELCOMES.

SIR JOSEPH WARD'S RECORD. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) IV tILUTTOTON - , Tuesday. Welcomes have rained upon Sir Joseph Ward to an extent which must have put a l?ig strain upon his physique. He had very little rest during a period of 27 hours after leaving Auckland for Wellington on Sunday night. His send-off in the Northern city naturally demanded a speech in acknowledgment This was over at 9.7 p.m. Enthusiastic Waikirto supporters roused him up at midnight when the train reached Frankton, and the inevitable speech followed. At 7 a.m. he was talking at Ohakune, at 8.30 a.m. the Liberals of Taihape were shouting "Welcome!" at 9.45 a.m. there was another demonstration at noon Palmer.ston North was the scene of a reception, and at 4 o'clock, "when the train reached Wellington, it brought Sir Joseph into the centre of a series of welcomes quickly succeeding each other, and only ceasing when members of the Liberal* party sang '"Auld Lang Syne" with him at midnight.
