NORTHCOTE, BIRKENHEAD AND CHELSEA FERRY SERVICE.

■To the Editor.; Sir, —It is almost impossible to pl-ease everybody in this age of profit and rush in business, but I think a public meeting should bp called re alterations in timetable, and electors should have a say in i what- is most suitable for their interests, j and their decision then submitted to the I Ferry Company for endorsement. Speaking to many of my friends on the subject, they argue that during the busy hours boats should be run something on the.se lines during tbe evening, as I think Tnorninjr boats are averagelv suifcablp: in. 10, 11, and 12 p.m.—o and 10 for ■I hose keeping early hours, attending I technical classes, meetings, and amusejments: 10 for those attending theatres, 'etc.; and )1 for late birds. After that the midnipht owl could doss in some pub in the city for the night. I would suggest that tin's service be run on the shift system of eight hours daily, with the abolition uf all overtime. It would also be an advantage to Chelsea residents if the 1.20 p.m. Sunday boat was delayed to. say. 2 p.m., as Sunday is the only day the workers have to spend dinner time in their own homes, and that would enable them to reach town in time for attending mectinirs and visiting friends in the hospital, etc. — I am, etc., EDGAR PARTINGTON.
