President Wilson is resisting strong fressure being put on him to ensure the United States should recognise a Huerta Government. The American Ambassador in Mexico specially visited Washington to persuade President Wilson to accord recognition, on the ground that it was certain that this would restore order. The President opposes recognition, because of the manner in which General Huerta succeeded the Madero regime.
