In the Highway of the Alps a succession of beautifully coloured pictures are shown of the Jura district in Prauce. recursions are made to the grottos, and tinal'ty to the famous Iloman grotto. These included pictures dealing with the removal of the damaged boiler from the Wakatere, the lnga in Calliope Dock, and hockey at the Remuera grotinds. A dramatic film. "The One Good Turn," told the story of a brave woman, while another good drama, "With the Eyes of a Blind." showed how, by the sense of touch a criminal was detected by a woman wbo was formerly blind. Other excellent picture* were ■•Rearing Alligators." the latest "Gaumont Graphic-." and "Hed Hicks Defies the World." The programme will be repeated to-night. KINO GEORGE THEATRE. The star picture shown last night, at Uie King (Jeorge Theatre was something very nrich out of the ordinary. It depicts the extraordinary feats of strength nml asrPity by a "man monkey." Tbe film is most exciting nnd sensational all through, and keeps one in a state of high tension wondering what will come next. The film attracted a large attendance. "The Favourite for tlie Jamaica" is the sensational story of a plot to wreck a train on which the favourite is travelling The plot is frustrated by the. sweetheart of the owner of the horse. "The Face at the Window" is the story of a robbery nnd a misunderstanding (the wrong man being suspectcdi. which i« satisfactorily cleared up in the end. To-nißht an attraction which is causing much Interest, a ladies' pair graceful skating contest, takes place.
