THE MAYORALTY OF TAKAPUNA
Requisitions are being circulated inviting Mr. George George and Mr. E. W. Alison to become candidates for the office of Mayor of Takapuna. A rumour having been circulated to the -effect that .Mr. George's position as Director of the Technical College rendered him ineligible for the position, Mr. George, when questioned on the matter, stated that there is no truth in the report, as he is not a Government servant and is at fofl liberty to take part in the government of the new borough in which he resides.
