MAIN TRUNK " SLEEPERS."

CAB ATTENDANTS' PTJEA—AND inKED DUTIES. fijy Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. \ question of interest to travellers between Auckland and Wellington, who indulge in the comfort provided by a -sleeper" is raised in the current number of the "Railway|Beview" in the shape af a letter by a correspondent. This writer, under the pen-name of " Waiter," makes the following interesting observations: "The sleeping car attendants have asked to be supplied with a key of the sleeping cars, to as to lock the doors when they go through fche train, cleaning lavatories and changing towels. It has been refused them, "the superior officer stating that ' there is no need for you to have one.' Things have happened on ships before to-day of persons feeling disposed to go through the pockets of passenfrers who turned into their beds for the night, and I am sure it will occur on 'the Trunk' one of these nights. -Who will get the blame? Why. the attendant, because he is away from the car changing towels and cleaning lavatories. Does' the manager know that a sleeping car attendant, besides cleaning lavatories also has to go into the dining cars and wait at table? What would the travelling public say to being waited on at table by a man who ha.s been cleaning out some of those disgusting lavatories on the tram? Every word I have said is solid truth, and if inquiries are made it will be proved:"
