The first session of the final of the New Zealand Amateur Billiard Championship played tils afternoon, resulted In Valentine (wio is defending the title) establishing a good lead over Karrell, his opponent The game is fixed at 1000 np, and when the first session was conclnded this afternoon Valentine's score stood at 501 (in play) against Karrell's 373. A shade over seven was recorded In the averages, seventy cues being played. There were a good many breaks of between 20 and 40. The best break of the afternoon was one of 42 by Valentine Valentine maintained his form Jn the evening session, and eventually won by 400.
