Papakura. p. member of the Maori Rugby team, in an address at the Kedfern Methodist Church., deplored the decrease of the Maoris, which he largely attributed to vices introduced with civlisaticn. Touching on sport, he condemned the introduction of professionalism. The reason the Maoris had come to Sydney -was to re-crea-te interest in the good old amateur game of the Rugby Union.
