BALL AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION.; Some "200 guests were present at a ball given last night at Government House by their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Liverpool, in honour of the officers of Hits. New Zealand, a number ot whom were present. The ballroom was decorated with ferns and palms, attractively arranged in pots, and tne corridors and drawing rooms were utilised for sitting-out between the dances. Music was provided by Adeane's orchestra, which was accommodated.on the small stage at one end of the ballroom. Dancing was commenced punctually at 9.30- the official set being as follows:— His Excellency the Governor and Mrs. H. D. Bell, her Excellency and the Hon. H. D. Bell, the Mayoress and Captain Halsey, the Mayor "and Mrs. Thdrne George, Commander Grace and Miss Rhodes, Colonel Logan and Mrs. North, Mr.- Fowlds and ' Mrs. Foljombe,. Mr. Thome George and Mrs. F. "M. B. Fisher. The dining-room, where, coffee and ices were served during the evening was prettily decorated with pink bouvardias and dahlias and autumn leaves.
