THE ROTORUA TRIP.
As might have been anticipated, the visit to Rotorua-made by 100 men and 18 . officers impressed them very much, and not a man but was anxious to pro-; long his stay. Thanks to the admirable arrangements made by the Government representative, Mr. B. M. Wilson, of the Tourist Department, everything went off. just as it bad been scheduled, and when the party landed back at Auckland last evening they were most enthusiastic about. the jaunt. The visitors were taken to all the principal sights, and although their time was so short there was not much that was missed. With Whakarewarewa. they were much impressed. The concert given in honour of the -visit was also keenly enjoyed, and the popular pastime for some time to come on the battleship.will no doubt be the practising of the haka—this Maori dance taking the fancy of both officers and men in a marked; degree. This morning another large PS"*? ol ' officers and men left for Rotorua, where they will spend Thursday, and *****] to Ai-K—and-on.
