Lord Roberts had an enthusiastic incep. tion at the National Service League demonstration at Glasgow He was supported by Mr Charles Chapman., a socialist ex-president of the Motherwell Trades Council, who contrasted the Motherland's obsolete methods of defence with the overseas Dominions' progressive policies. Lord'Koberts, speaking at the Lord Provost's luncheon, disclaimed hbstilitv to Germany, but when the youth of that country were taught to look forward to a conflict 'with England to should be prepared.
