A few days ago the Hon. Jas. Allen, in company* with Major Robin (writes our London correspondent), spent a few hours examining the Solano 'natural condition" targets and a kineuiato graph target which has been recently brought out° As most nicn familiar with rille shooting already know the Solano target is designed to give the riflemen practice in shotting at objects as they would appear in the actual field of battle. Colonel Allen wits apparently rather impressed with the practice value of the Solano tarcots, but could see no great military value in the kinematograph affair, though it appears to afford good sport. Any picture, of course, can be thrown on the screen, and tb" idea is that the man with the g.m selects, or is given, some object appearing in the picture to shoot a t a lion or tiger hounding through the junkie, a -motor-hop" rxeppding the speed limit, a bird flying or any swift moving thing.
