A report furnished to the Upper Hutt Town Board shows that there are 15 houses in the district each under the V^ e A°L £10 °- In one in *tance it was stated that the building was principally built of packing cassa. The Board decided to ask the Health Department to inspect and report on the condition of the buUding3. The Inspector-General of Hospitals told a meeting in Eketahuna that a mistaken idea existed as to the functions of tne district nurse, and it was just as well to clear it up. He stated the duties of the nurse were to attend emergency cases only, and her stay at one place was not to exceed a week, unless under exceptional circumstances.
