BOARD OF EDUCATION.
The ordinary meeting of the Board of Edneatlon was attended by Messrs. G. J. Garland (chairman), A. Harris, J. D. JJ$Kenzie, H. J. Grecnslade. C. E. Barrlball, A. Burns. E. C. Banks. G. W. Murray, a>nd G. Edgeeiimbe. • CHAIRMAN'S REPORT. The chairman reported that the Franktou committee had been informed that tue ; school was not yet entitled , to the services of a male assistant, but that an assistant master would be appointed when the school had reached Grade "A. The temporary closing of Matahura No. 2 school owiug to epidemic of fever (as recommended by the District Health Officer) had beeu authorised. Resignations had been received from Mr. C. C. Tills. Takahue; Miss M. M. McLeod, pupil teacher, Te Kulti: Miss S. B. Arey, head teacher, Alexandra; Miss D. J. Meyenberg, assistant, Taumarunui; Mr. N. P. Shaw. Pakaru; Miss M. Norrish, assistant, Maungntapere; Miss M. B. Jackson, assistant, Grafton. APPOINTMENT OP TEACHERS. The Selection Committee recommended that the following appointments should be authorised by the Board:—Mr. F. McGrath, head teacher, Tairua; Mr. J. A. Tatton, head teacher, Arama; Mr. L. W. Totman, head teacher, Rototuna: Mr. W. EC. Smith, assistant, Paeroa D.H.S.; Mr. E. W. B. Caddy, assista-ut, Otahulin; Miss I. Loueh. assistant. Taumarunnl; Miss R. Pirrlt, assistant, Taumaninui; Miss S. Grigg, assistant, Franfeton; Miss P. M. Day, assistant, Mt. Eden; Miss E. ilabbett, pnpil teacher, Te Kuiti; Miss M. E. Walker, pupil teacher, Edendale. The following temporary appointments were made:—Mr. W. R. McEldowney, Pntake: Mr. J. E. Lowe, Puketnrua; Miss B. A. Dixon, Takahue; Mr. J. H. Foy, Waipuna; Mr. B. O. Heather, Mataponri; Mr. T. 11. Kirk, assistant. Mt. Eden; Miss C. J. Wharfe, assistant, Matmgatnpere; Mr. G. !•". Wight. Mahurangi Heads and Mullet Point: Mr. A. E. Cradlck, Rarangahape; Mr. A. H. Jeffs. Tamahere.
