A SUCCESSFUL RECEPTION.
The Mayor has received congratulations from all quarters concerning the excellence of yesterday's battleship reception arrangements. The Prime Minister has expressed his pleasure at the manner in which everything had been done, and' the Hon. H. D. Bell has written, expressing his personal appreciation of the manner in which Auckland welcomed the battleship and its officers. The Mayor, seen to-day, said he desired to thank those committees which had so willingly assisted in bringing about the success of yesterday's functions, and particularly the Harbour Board officials for the excellence of their arrangements for the reception of Captain Halsey and his officers.
