TO-MORROWS CONTESTS. KEEN FIGHTS IN CITT AND SUBURBS. HOSPITAL BOARD, HARBOUR BOARD AND HALF-HOLIDAY POLLS. THE CANDIDATES ENUMERATED. Electors will to-morrow have a somewhat now experience. In no' municipality will the voter have less, than four ballot papers handed to him; in one case—Birkenhead—there will be five. Although there iis only s one mayoral election (at Onehunga), contests are in progress for the borough councils in all the suburban municipalities. Intera-it mainly centres, however, in the four l>l3 contests —City Council, Hospital Board, Harbour Board, and tho half-holiday poll. Palling hours will be between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and in the city alone there are 19 polling placet;, including 63 booths, while tho registrar of electors haa a staff of 130 assistant*. The counting of the votes will naturally be n somewhat lengthy procedure, but the City Council results, it is expected, will be posted at about 9 p.m., and tlie Hospital Board, Harbour Board, and half-holiday poUs will bo announced later, as they become available, in the order namedCITY COUNCIL. 35 ASPIRANTS: IS SEATS. For the IS ee.ats on the City Council, there are 3j candidate*. Hitherto the Council has consisted of 15 members, but on this occasion, in view of the inclusion of Parnell and Arch Hill, and the probable early inclusion of Remuera, it has been decided to increase the Council to a membership of 13.
