OTAGO RAILWAYS.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, MofidSy. A strong deputation waited on the Minister of Railways (the Hew. W. H. Herries), representing the Lawrence-Rox-burgh Railway League, the Otago Central Railway League, and the Dunedin Expansion League. Some nine speakers advocated the imporiafiee and necessity of pushing cm the completion of the Law-rence-Roxburgh line to Beaumont and carrying it further. It was also urged tbat the Otago Central Railway should be constructed as far as Cromwell at least. The Minister, Teprying, said the people were going the right way to get new railways. They were working on the right lines, biit he could not tell them when the fruition would take place. He hoped next year to go oiver the route Spoken of and free a little more of ihe country.
