AX EXCHANGE AT WAITAKKHEI. It was decided to grant an application, on behalf of Mr Bowrou, for the dedication of two crossings, one chain wide across the pipe track between the break pressure tank on top of the /W'aitakerci "range, in return for a kauri clump of 2i acres, subject to gates being placed iv the fence at the crossing!". Eden Council forwarded a petition from ratepayers in No. 1 ward protesting against blasting operations In the City Couucll quarries, and asked the Council to show cause why the permit to blast should not be revoked. Reporting on same, the City Engineer stated that every precaution was taken In the blasting, and that under existing conditions there "was no danger to life or property. The matter was referred to the Works Committee.
