MOKAU BLOCK SUBDIVIDED.

An important subdivision of land recently carried out is that of the wellknown Jlokau-Mohakatino Block 20,----000' acres, fcltua'tcd on the southern bank of the Mokt-ui River, and extending from itrs mouth to (i point ebme 30 miles liigher up. It ia subdivided into twelve sections, ranging ■in area from 2.71ti to .1,001 acres. The eoi! is described as good chocolate loam, and well watered everywhere by permanent, streams. The land lies well towards the sun, and i« 'free from gorges, its carrying capacity when in greets being estimated at 2 to 21 cheep per acre. Accesis to four of the sections' is obtained from the river, which is navigable for small steamers for 23 miles, n%\ for ■launches to a much greater distance. Roads and bridle-tracks are being constructed to give access to all eections.
