— IRRESISTIBLE ATTRACTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' ' WELLINGTON, this day. The battleship New Zealand has proved an irresistible attraction to the school children, and daily the ship is thronged with thousands of youngsters. The-.Government is doing all possible.-to enable country children to see the warship. Those in the city schools have nearly all been aboard, and the country schools are now having their turn. The children from as far north as Wanganui are coming to-morrow. Monday will see the last of these excursions. The sailors have been models of courtesy in attendin,, to the children. This afternoon members tof the Government are entertaining Capt. Halsey «nd his officers at luncheon. Many members of Parliament will be present. PROPOSED VISIT TO THAMES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. At the Borough Council meeting last evening it was resolved to co-operate with the Thames Council in a proposal that if possible the battleship New Zealand should visit the Hauraki Gulf with a view to giving hundreds of children an opportunity to visit tho ship who otherwise could not make the Auckland trip. It was. stated that the Premier had submitted the proposal to the captain of the ship.
