CALIFORNIA AND THE JAPS.
EFFECT OF LEGISLATION. DRIVING AWAY CAPITAL. SAN FRANCISCO, April 17. The English and Continental interests are protesting strongly against the Californian Alien Land Bill. Millions of foreign capital, it is declared, will be banished from California if the bill is adopted.
The English representatives urge that the bill ought to declare specifically its intentions against the Japanese without seeking to put them out by roundabout methods.
