In the evening the officers were entertained at a citizens' ball in the Town Hall, which was lavishly decorated for • the occasion, and the function was one of the most brilliant held in Wellington. Four hundred men from H.M.s. New Zealand were entertained at luncheon in the Town Hall to-day.
