The Government meteorologist is studyI ing the results of Dr. Mawson's weather : reports, and is endeavouring to connect 1 up the isobars with those of Australia 1 and New Zealand. The information ' available is insufficient yet to yield much \ but it has disclosed one important point, ' that when Antarctic disturbances are , travelling rapidly the isobars extend to ', a very high latitude. The records prove '. that Antarctic currents can travel di- , rectly to Australia and affect the [ weather.
