GERMANS IN FRANCE.

ATTACKED ON A STATION. rasTAKEar for army OFFICERS. IRRITATION IN BERLIN. (By Cable.-..ress Association.—Copyrlgnt) (Received 0.15 a.m.) BERLIN, April 15. The newspapers indignantly declare that six German merchants were mobbed at the railway station at Nancy, near the French frontier. They were insulted and attacked with sticks and fists, and were imprisoned in a waiting room. The crowd apparently mistook them for disguised Prussian officers. The Germans had previously "boohed" a burlesque of the German army at a local theatre. The newspapers complain that French officers present at the station did not interfere with the violence of the mob. There is growing irritation over the ! affair. > Government representations have been made to France for redress, and the French Government has promised an explanation. It assumes that the reports have been exaggerated. The "Lokal _in_cig3r" says: "If dis courtesy to Germans continues, we shall be obliged to take measures to ensure respect."
