The monthly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was heia on Friday evening. It was'rcsolved to write to the postmasters at Te Aroha and Morrinsviile, and endeavour to have an alteration in the time of closing the mail. It was resolved to write to the Minister of. Hallways, asking that Matu-' maobo and Kiwitahl stations be connected wltli nearest post-office by telephone, and that porters advise Consignees of arrival of goods. It was resolved to hold a dinner at an early date, and to Invite settlers from the"country districts. The sub-committee appointed to confer with the Town Board re lighting the town, reported that the Board had arranged with owners of private lights to allow them to burn until 10.30 p.m:, the Board to appoint a uian'to attend to the lighting of the lamps.
